Ingegerd (Ingrid) Paddock Blom, 99, died of cardio pulmonary arrest on .. - .. -1999, in Falls Church, Virginia. Born Ingegerd Uno Anderson in Laske-Vedum, Sweden, on December 2, 1899, she was one of five daughters and four sons of Beda Regina and Folke Hampus Uno Anderson. She graduated from Arvedsons Gymnastik Institute in Stockholm with diplomas in Physical Therapy and Physical Education. Moving to Cleveland, Ohio, after graduation, she practiced physical therapy there and returned to Sweden five years later. In Stockholm, she worked as private secretary and English correspondent for General Motors executive Andrew Billings Paddock, whom she married in 1930 in Chappaqua, NY. Following a honeymoon in Mexico and Cuba, she and her husband resided in Indonesia, Denmark, Sweden and Australia, and returned to America in 1944 with their two sons. She settled with her family in northern Virginia in 1947, became a naturalized citizen in 1948, and was widowed in 1953. Ingegerd was a member of the American-Scandinavian Association and was affiliated with the Vasa Order and the Swedish Council. A communicant of St Clement's Episcopal Church in Alexandria and then St George's in Arlington, she served in the choirs and vestries and as lay reader, chalicist and subdeacon. In addition to her music skills as a pianist, she sang with the Alexandria chapter of Sweet Adelines and performed with her quartet, The Promissory Notes, for several years. She retired from physical therapy in 1984 and married Swedish industrialist/philanthropist Gideon Emanuel Blom. Widowed again in 1987, she returned to America and took up residence at Goodwin House West in Falls Church, Virginia. Her family includes two sons, Andrew Paddock of California and David Paddock of New Hampshire; four stepchildren; seven grandchildren; five great-grandsons; and a sister, Lillie Dahlstedt.
